Cargo Restrictions
Under Section VII, Article 80 of the Common Customs Laws, the following goods may not be admitted into the free zones:
- Class 8 HAZ container must be cleared within 3 working days. Failure to do so will attract a fine from the port as per the Jebel Ali port EHS tariff.
- IMO, Class 5 and Class 2(Gas Lights) must be on a Direct Delivery Basis. If approval is not obtained from relevant authorities, the container will be retained on Board.
- Flammable goods, excluding the fuels necessary for the operation allowed by the authority supervising free zones and duty-free shops under the conditions prescribed by the competent authority.
- Radioactive materials
- Arms, ammunition and explosives, of any kind, except those licensed by the competent authorities.
- Arms, ammunition and explosives, of any kind, except those licensed by the competent authorities.
- All kinds of narcotic drugs and derivatives thereof.
- Goods originated in an economically boycotted country.
- Goods prohibited from entering the country; a list of such goods shall be made by each State.
Weight Regulations
The maximum permissible weight for heavy vehicles will vary according to the number of axles:
- Heavy vehicles with two axles can only weigh up to 21 tons.
- Heavy vehicles with three axles can weigh up to 34 tons.
- Vehicles with four axles can weigh up to 45 tons.
- Vehicles with five axles can weigh up to 56 tons.
- Vehicles with six axles can weigh up to 65 tons.
